I am behind this week as it is the first week of school. My kids go to a year round public school so the calendar is a little different than most. It is actually very similar to a regular school year except that the breaks are two weeks instead of one and we get a fall, winter and spring break. The summers are around three weeks shorter. The best part of this schedule as far as I am concerned is that for a fee, the school offers a week of special courses during the fall and spring break. This gives your child either a chance to catch up or an opportunity to learn new things (like guitar or Civil War history). More learning, less boredom!
Still, the first week of a new year is pretty frantic.
Here's my easy plan:
Monday: Chicken Lasagna & Fruit Salad
Tuesday: Beef Ravioli in Marinara Sauce
Wednesday: Barbecue Sandwiches & Baked Beans
Thursday: Hash Brown Casserole
Friday: Spaghetti with Red Pepper Sausage
Saturday: Caribbean Dump Chicken & Rice
Sunday: Scandinavian Meatballs with Egg Noodles (family favorite) & Steamed Vegetables
