I found this recipe in a Better Homes and Gardens Crock Pot Recipe Book that I purchased at a second hand store. On a very busy day last week I tried it out, and it was a winner especially for the guys! It will definitely be added to our favorites.
Smoked Sausage and Beans
1 can red kidney beans
1 can black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can great northern beans drained
1 can butter beans
1 lb smoked turkey sausage, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 1/2 cups catsup
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/4 c packed brown sugar
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 t dry mustard
1/2 t bottled hot pepper sauce
In a 3 1/2 to 5-quart crock pot combine all ingredients and mix.
Cover; cook on low 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
*The only thing I would do differently for my family of five would be to add another can of beans and a second package of sausage.
