I wish I had time to go through the adds and analyze the sales and coupons for all the drugstores. So I am very thankful that Moms Need to Know has produced a list of what is free this week. I am definitely going to pick up some $1.49 laundry detergent at CVS this week!

Just a tip, if you are going to purchase laundry detergent at Walgreens, do two checkouts. For the first, get the products that are free after register rewards (using your money to purchase). Then second, purchase your detergent with the register rewards that you just received plus your coupons. In other words, spend the same money twice!

Free Colgate Total at Walgreens

Being that it is cold and flu season, I am spending more time at the pharmacy at Walgreen's. While waiting, I picked up the free magazine. It was a Holiday 2010/Winter 2011 Walgreen's Diabetes & You Magazine that has two Colgate coupons in it. On the outside of the magazine there is a smaller attached booklet with mostly store coupons. In the magazine there is a Colgate manufacturer coupon and in the attached booklet there is a store coupon. Just out of curiosity, I checked the price of Colgate Total and it was on sale.

Cheap Soup at Walgreens

I walked to Walgreens today for lunch since it finally stopped raining long enough to get out. In the Walgreens' advertisement (usually can pick up at the door) there is a coupon for Campbell's soup, making them .89 each. If you also use the printable $1/2 then each will be .39 - a good deal on Campbell's cream soups. There is also an in-ad coupon for Arizona Tea 2 for $1.

Easy Money Maker at Walgreens

Currently you can buy 3 Reach Ultraclean toothbrushes for $9 and get back $6 in Register Rewards. There is a coupon for $5 off of any 3 Reach Floss, Toothbrush or Listerine from the 8/2 Smart Source insert. 8/2 was the weekend that either 4 or 5 inserts were in the paper (depending on where you live) and you probably bought a few extra. Thus, you spend $4 plus tax (4.83 in TN) for three toothbrushes and get back $6 in Register Rewards.

Use the $6 to buy what you need or save for newspapers on Sunday.

How I got my newspapers for free this morning!

I really don't like paying for coupons...who does? So when I decide that I want to purchase more newspapers and Walgreens has them for .99 each, I try to purchase products with register rewards before I buy the newspapers so I can use the register rewards to get the newspapers. Here is what I did:

Free Aluminum Foil at Walgreens

So I caught the crud on the plane coming back from Florida, and I ended up spending a goodly amount of time sitting at Walgreen's Take Care clinic today. As I sat there waiting I flipped through their circular and saw an in-store coupon (good through Sat.) that I had used in the past and was very happy to see again. It is the one that makes Reynold's Wrap aluminum foil .99¢.

From past experience I know that Walgreen's carries the 20 ft. variety and most Reynold's Wrap coupons only exclude the 25 foot variety. Remember that Reynold's Wrap booklet (called Signature Family Recipes with coupons expiring 12/31/09) I picked up at Harris Teeter and mentioned a month or so ago? I still had six $1/1 coupons left. If you stack that coupon with the store coupon in the circular, then the aluminum foil is free!

While you are there, check out the band-aid section. There is a Johnson & Johnson booklet that you can pick up which has $1/1 J & J product coupons in it. You can use that stacked with Publix's store coupon until the 31st for free+ Johnson & Johnson medical products. Publix frequently has store coupons for J & J products so you may be able to use this coupon for stacking purposes after the 31st as well.

It's finally above 50 degrees around here so I needed a destination to take a walk. Walgreens is about six blocks away so I looked online to see if there were any great deals and that is when I came across the post at Coupon Cravings.

The ad does say limit 3, and I was prepared to pay full price for the remainder because it would still be a good deal, but the .99 price was applied to all eight.
