Honestly, I don't know why I had not done it before. I mean, when I cook a frozen pizza obviously the cheese has been frozen and it still melts just fine. I have found that I can't tell the difference between cheese that has been frozen and that which has not.

Hmmm... I never thought about freezing cheese. You are right, it is frozen on pizza. I just never thought of it. Thanks for the tip!
The foil deal is great! Is that a Kroger-wide close-out or regional? Or maybe just your store?
We freeze our cheese too! I like to freeze it in cubes, and shredded. Also, if you are friends with the deli person you can sometimes get a deal on cheese ends!
I am pretty sure the foil deal is everywhere. I first noticed it on Southern Savers and she is not local. I looked for it because she mentioned it.

I freeze cheese when I find it at a bargain. It definitely freezes better when shredded than it does whole. Also, soft cheeses like cream cheese don't freeze quite as well - best to use them for cooking after being defrosted.
