Banana Bread
This recipe came from a 1956 Yarmouth, Maine community recipe book that I bought at the flea market. It tastes great!
Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 eggs beaten
3 ripe bananas mashed
3 Tbp milk
2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp salt
Directions:
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease and flour a loaf or muffin pan.
Step 2
Cream together the sugar and butter. When mixed, add the remaining wet ingredients. Mix. Sift the dry ingredients into the bowl. Mix and pour into baking dish.
Step 3
Bake for about 45 min to 1 hour. (Baking time will vary depending on your oven. Less time, 25-30 minutes, for two smaller loaves or muffins.)
Number Of Servings:
Makes 1 large loaf, 2 smaller loaves or 18 muffins
