Freecycle!
If you have not connected with a local freecycle network you may be missing out! The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 4,564 groups with 5,575,000 members across the globe. It's a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (& getting) stuff for free in their own towns. It's all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by a local volunteer (them's good people). Membership is free. To sign up, go HERE. Our cute dog, Ruby, above, was saved by a member who put her on an email out to our local freecycle network. We adopted her several months ago. She's a full blooded Red Bone Coonhound, very sweet, adored by the kids, chews everything and has probably cost us a ton of money so far. At least she was free...

Ruby is adorable!
LOVE FREECYCLE! my friend has gillian barre syndrom and can't breast feed (she's been hospitalized since her now 3 week old daughter was 3 days old) so I posted on freecycle and got tons of free formula samples and coupons!!
IN the past I've given away a ton of stuff just to get it out of our house so it's been a win/win situation for me. I really never thought I'd need to post a WANTED thread up there.. but I did and got awesome responces!
I'm so sorry about your friend. I hope she will be okay.
I have had pretty good experiences with freecycle so far. The only bad one was that I responded to someone's request for infant and toddler clothes (had 4-5 boxes to give them), they said they would take them but kept putting me off for pick up. Eventually, I gave up and never heard from them again. Weird.
Ive been a memeber of 2 local freecycle groups for about 2 years now..they are great... ive gotten some things ive needed (including an entertainment center) and ive given away lots too..its a great program!
